Origin story

I memorized the Quran.
Arabic made it possible.

I grew up in Ghana attending Islamic school alongside my regular studies. We recited the Quran, memorized surahs — but for a long time I had no idea what I was saying to Allah in my salah.

When I began studying Arabic more seriously during my undergraduate years, something shifted completely. Words I had been reciting my whole life suddenly opened up and spoke to me.

"The day I understood that Al-hamd means all praise, and lillahi means belongs to Allah alone — I felt my salah differently for the first time. That understanding changed how I memorized. The words had roots. They meant something."

Alhamdulillah, I completed the memorization of the entire Quran. I am now a PhD researcher in Medical Physics at UM6SS in Casablanca, Morocco. I built ZineLang because I wish this guide had existed when I started — simple, honest, built for Muslims who already carry pieces of this language in their hearts.
